About the position

The Lockheed Martin Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer: Software Product Acquisition Manager (SPAM) to oversee the management of supplier technical execution for the F-35 Ground systems scope. This role is critical as it involves managing subcontracts that include partners, vendors, and internal Lockheed Martin business areas that support the ground systems organization. The SPAM will serve as the primary technical point of contact for subcontracts, ensuring that all aspects of cost, schedule, and technical performance are met for both development and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) vendors against the subcontractor scope of work. The responsibilities also include managing the quality of technical deliverables and ensuring that program milestones are met in terms of delivery and schedule execution. In this position, the SPAM will coordinate closely with program technical leadership to capture and execute all requirements effectively. The role requires managing external partners and subcontractors, as well as other Lockheed Martin areas related to subcontracts. The SPAM will also be responsible for monitoring supplier executions and quality metrics to ensure that all deliverables meet the high standards expected by Lockheed Martin. Responsibilities

  • Lead subcontractor Statement of Work (SOW) technical evaluation for cost, technical, and schedule aspects.
  • Coordinate with program technical leadership to ensure all requirements are captured and executed effectively.
  • Manage external partners and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with Lockheed Martin's standards.
  • Oversee supplier executions and quality metrics to maintain high performance standards.
  • Ensure timely delivery of technical deliverables and adherence to program milestones.

Requirements

  • Experience with subcontractors for software development products.
  • Experience in negotiating proposals and scope of work.
  • Knowledge of Cost Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value (EV) principles.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with software product acquisition management.
  • Familiarity with the F-35 program and its associated technologies.
