About the position

The Systems Engineer for System Integration at Dematic Corp is a pivotal role focused on the technical development, testing, integration, and acceptance of high-tech solutions. This position involves working within an interdisciplinary technical team to validate solutions and ensure successful delivery to customers. The role can be performed remotely, with preferred locations in major field offices across North America.

Responsibilities

  • Support early development activities (RFQ) to ensure product being sold does not exceed internal targets (throughput).
  • Provide technical guidance to the quote team regarding timing, implementation, technical issues, standards, lessons learned, and project hour estimates for the SIM function.
  • Develop key customer product documents, including system specifications, test plans, and validation criteria.
  • Participate in and approve the simulation of the design (Computer Simulation) to ensure it meets sold design criteria and proposal.
  • Engage in both internal and external customer meetings to ensure the product being implemented meets customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams on design and software.
  • Define and agree on interfaces between component systems, including software, mechanical systems, controls engineering, and product engineering.
  • Provide on-site support during product installation, offering technical guidance and oversight to ensure correct installation and commissioning of the product.
  • Execute and support testing of products on-site, including Software Acceptance Testing (Factory Acceptance Testing) and System Integration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a systems engineer or similar role in a technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of system integration and testing processes.
  • Ability to develop technical documentation and specifications.
  • Experience with computer simulation and design validation.
  • Excellent communication skills for both internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
