About the position

The Systems Engineer / Transition Lead will support the Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) by planning and executing test and evaluation activities for the Human Machine Integrated Formations (HMIF) Project Office. This role involves leading system-level testing, developing test plans and procedures, coordinating testing activities, and ensuring compliance with standards while managing risks and communicating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and executing HMIF test and evaluation activities in coordination with the Army Evaluation Center.
  • Leading and participating in system-level technical and operational testing of the HMIF Armor BCT and Infantry BCT formations.
  • Assisting in the development of testing tools and methodologies, coordinating with testing organizations throughout the T&E lifecycle.
  • Developing comprehensive test plans that outline objectives, methods, resources, and schedules for evaluating prototypes.
  • Establishing and reviewing detailed procedures for conducting tests, including defining test scenarios, conditions, and metrics for performance evaluation.
  • Organizing and overseeing the execution of tests, ensuring all necessary resources, equipment, and personnel are available.
  • Supervising the collection of test data, analyzing results, and ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Detecting and documenting any problems, deficiencies, or areas for improvement in the prototype during testing.
  • Preparing detailed reports and documentation of test results, providing clear feedback to development teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that all testing activities comply with relevant standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Identifying potential risks associated with the prototype and its testing, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Implementing lessons learned from testing to improve future test plans, procedures, and prototype designs.
  • Communicating test results, progress, and issues to stakeholders, including developers, project managers, and clients.
  • Providing guidance and training to team members on test and evaluation methodologies and best practices.
  • Ensuring the prototype integrates well with other systems and performs effectively in various operational environments.
  • Overseeing field tests to evaluate the prototype's performance in real-world conditions.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • BS in a technical field; additional years of experience can be considered for equivalency
  • 6 years of T&E experience, which can include contractor assignments and applicable military experience
  • Progressively complex experience in the testing and integration of Human Machine Integrated systems, especially related to tactical systems
  • Expertise in developing and applying measures of performance and effectiveness
  • Familiarity with databases and automated tools for evaluation, analytical, and verification support
  • Familiarity with T&E policies and procedures in support of DoD 5000 Acquisition.

  • Hands-on integration and testing of vehicles, robotic systems, and C5ISR systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work on multi-functional teams.
