About the position

The Systems Engineer position at Serco involves supporting the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) and Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) Program Office at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The role focuses on the development, modernization, and sustainment of GPS receivers and user equipment, ensuring alignment with DoD and national-level priorities. The engineer will work closely with government personnel, providing technical management and engineering support for multiple GPS modernization programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, executing, and controlling technical aspects of acquisition programs.
  • Develop and present technical briefings and lead technical meetings/reviews.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to government personnel.
  • Provide technical management and engineering support services for GPS modernization programs.
  • Assist with the development of systems engineering requirements, program strategies, statements of work, and systems engineering plans.
  • Conduct engineering trade studies and technical analyses.
  • Evaluate, plan, and conduct development/integration/fielding activities for modernized GPS systems.
  • Assess civil and military mandates associated with Assured Position, Navigation, and Timing requirements.
  • Review and analyze technical proposals and directives.
  • Evaluate OEM technical performance and proposed solutions to ensure satisfaction of government requirements.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain/maintain/transfer a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • At least 8 years of related experience
  • Experience with Modern Systems Engineering and Requirements Management processes
  • Experience with defense acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives
  • Knowledge of Digital Engineering process/environment
  • Ability to travel 10%
