About the position

The Systems Engineer IT at PlanIT Group LLC is responsible for performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and analyses for total systems within the aerospace and aviation sector. This role involves ensuring the conversion of customer requirements into comprehensive systems solutions while considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The engineer will engage in functional analysis, timeline analysis, and requirements allocation to develop hardware and software specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical planning and system integration for total systems.
• Conduct verification and validation analyses at all levels of the system product.
• Analyze cost and risk, as well as supportability and effectiveness of systems.
• Translate customer requirements into total systems solutions considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Engage in functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detail trade studies.
• Conduct requirements allocation and interface definition studies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
• Linux Server Administration experience (RedHat and SLES).
• Windows Server and Desktop OS experience.
• DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Sec+ CE).
• Knowledge and experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell for Windows, shell scripting for Linux).
• Prior experience in requirements and verification.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledgeable in information systems networking.
• Experience with VMWare/ESXi, VSphere, and Hyper-V for automated configuration/updates.
• Familiarity with Excel, Agile, Atlassian tool suite (JIRA/Confluence), and IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM).
• Experience with application/software such as GIT, McAfee, Nexus, and Ansible.
• Experience in configurations management of packages and patches, version control, and service packs.
