About the position

The Systems Engineer at Peraton is responsible for designing, developing, evaluating, and modifying end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products throughout their entire life cycle. This role involves generating quantifiable requirements, ensuring compliance with client and government standards, and translating high-level product strategies into detailed system specifications. The engineer will work closely with multi-discipline teams to ensure the successful integration and performance of system elements, while also participating in design reviews and customer liaison activities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, evaluate, and modify end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle.
  • Generate quantifiable requirements based on customer descriptions, system planning, and design.
  • Ensure requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
  • Translate high-level product development strategies into system requirement specifications.
  • Establish and coordinate the development of standards, practices, and procedures related to product development.
  • Design interfaces and integrate system elements to function as a cohesive whole.
  • Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
  • Act as a customer liaison and support business development activities to understand and shape requirements.
  • Participate in system conceptual design and document design concepts.
  • Participate in design reviews of components to ensure applicability and traceability of requirements.
  • Generate system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Review test plans/procedures to ensure they meet contractual objectives and participate in the testing process.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD.
  • Requires a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Requires an IAT Level II Certification.
  • Experience in reverse engineering existing deployments.

Nice-to-haves

  • IAT Level III preferred.
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, JAVA, etc.) preferred.
