About the position

The Systems Engineer at Absolute Business Solutions Corp (ABSC) is responsible for supporting and developing innovative hardware, software, and network systems and applications. This role requires a strong understanding of technical trends in information technology and the ability to manage projects effectively while ensuring compliance with enterprise technical architecture. The engineer will work closely with project teams, provide lifecycle support, and respond to system functionality issues as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of technical trends in information technology.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of ongoing IT projects and business unit requirements.
  • Apply the Sponsor's project management model for development efforts.
  • Provide analysis, design, development, deployment, and lifecycle support for hardware/software/network systems and applications.
  • Develop and support end-to-end technical projects, ensuring compliance with enterprise technical architecture.
  • Assist project and program teams in preparing for project control gates and keep senior management informed of project status.
  • Respond immediately to restore or maintain system functionality.
  • Possess Local Area Network (LAN) skills, including building servers and understanding certificate authorities.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance is required.
  • Strong background in Microsoft Systems Engineering and support for those systems.
  • Recent experience with Windows platform operating systems and Microsoft applications, including Windows 10 and Server 2012/2016.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization products, particularly Hyper-V.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, especially PowerShell.
  • Experience with the McAfee product suite.
  • Demonstrated strong performance as a Systems Engineer/Architect across the entire project lifecycle.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas across multiple stakeholders.
  • Capacity to independently determine and develop solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical Certifications: MCSE and/or CCIE.
  • Working knowledge of VMWare and ESXi.
  • Experience with storage devices, including NetApp.
  • Knowledge of CSFC technologies and methodologies.
  • Current experience in classified and unclassified distributed work environment architectures and systems.
  • Secure remote mobile computing experience.
  • Familiarity with SCCM.
  • Knowledge of Cisco and VOIP/PolyCom VTC technology.
  • Understanding of Private Branch Exchange telephony.
