About the position

This hybrid position is part of Questel's Global Information Technology department, responsible for designing, building, and supporting enterprise production and disaster recovery environments. The role involves maintaining and upgrading IT infrastructure across various locations, coordinating with global IT resources, and ensuring the security and efficiency of both on-premises and cloud-hosted systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and upgrade current IT infrastructure, including servers, network, storage, desktops, and cloud environments.
  • Support DataCenter systems configuration including cabling, network infrastructure, and servers.
  • Manage virtualization and enterprise storage.
  • Conduct technical planning, documentation, and project management.
  • Implement server/device security hardening measures.
  • Design, implement, and test new enterprise systems and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware-related issues in collaboration with staff.
  • Assist in designing, documenting, and testing backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Be on-call for after-hours systems issues to support international office activities.
  • Work on special projects and other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional IT experience.
  • Strong knowledge of computer server hardware components and maintenance.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM.
  • Proficient in Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux systems integration into virtualized environments.
  • Experience with Citrix products and Active Directory/Azure administration.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN connectivity and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ITIL frameworks and service level agreements.
  • Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Citrix).
  • Knowledge of configuring and supporting networking equipment (routers, firewalls, switches).
  • Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Fluency in a second language other than English.
