About the position

The Systems Engineer position at Lockheed Martin involves contributing to the development of critical systems for national defense within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role focuses on systems engineering, integration, and testing, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement customer-requested capabilities and ensure high-quality product delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop use cases and prepare systems engineering artifacts including Epics and Features for program Cross-Functional Product Teams.
  • Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, and Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM).
  • Author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews.
  • Provide use case development support to junior systems engineering team members.
  • Act as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts as required.

Requirements

  • Must have an active Final SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain a TS Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Ability to support various tasking on short notice.
  • Experience in mission analysis with skills in developing use cases and sequence diagrams.
  • Skills in generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications.
  • Experience in requirements elicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components.
  • Maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement management system.
  • Ability to define relationships between internal and external components.
  • Strong communication skills to convey system level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Space Domain and Missile Defense Systems.
  • Experience with Agile Methods, and Epic and Feature definition.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance.
