About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer will support the Integration Division in Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Acquisition Delta within the United States Space Force. This role involves analyzing, planning, designing, implementing, documenting, assessing, and managing the enterprise's structural framework to align IT strategy and systems with the organization's mission and goals. The position is full-time at Peterson Space Force Base, with the option for remote work up to fifty percent, depending on customer discretion.

Responsibilities

• Developing reference models of the enterprise and maintaining the information in the IT repository
• Determining the gaps between the current and the target architecture and recommending plans for transitioning to target architecture
• Recommending the policies and principles to guide technology decisions for the enterprise architecture
• Identifying opportunities to improve enterprise-level systems to support business processes and utilize emerging technologies
• Promoting and educating customers and stakeholders on the use and value of the enterprise architecture
• Providing enterprise architecture guidance, support, and coordination to customers and IT project teams
• Documenting the enterprise architecture infrastructure, including the business units and key processes, using modeling techniques
• Ensuring technical integration is achieved across the enterprise by participating in test planning, validation, and reviews
• Evaluating the impact of enterprise architecture products and services on IT investments, business operations, stakeholder satisfaction, and other outcomes
• Coordinating and conducting governance and portfolio management activities associated with ensuring compliance with the enterprise architecture; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to all components of the enterprise architecture
• Supporting implementation and execution of Agile software execution in concert with Government and Prime contractors
• Supporting and advising on the development of Service Oriented Architectures for software development

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• High School Diploma
• Fifteen (15) years of directly related experience; including eight (8) years of DoD experience

Nice-to-haves

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• CISSP Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (CISSIP-ISSAP) certification
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical discipline; including five (5) years of DoD experience
• Master's in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical discipline; including five (5) years of DoD experience
• DoD Acquisition Program Office experience
• Missile Warning, Missile Defense, and/or Space Domain Awareness or Command and Control Systems experience
• DoDAF Architectural documentation experience
• Experience with cloud-based technologies
• Experience with mission and/or software applications and their uses
• Experience in Digital Engineering/Model-Based Systems Engineering
• Experience with Sparx EA (including ProCloud Server) or Cameo Enterprise Architect
• Modeling and simulation on Software-intensive systems
• Experience with tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, AFSIM
