About the position

The Systems Engineer position at Troll involves working in a team-oriented environment to develop, prototype, test, and produce custom systems for various projects. The role requires strong technical skills in electronics and mechanical assembly, as well as the ability to read schematics and drawings. The engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation and will assist in the design and integration of subsystems across multiple engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Proven knowledge in using electronic test equipment including an oscilloscope, DMM, and Spectrum Analyzer.
  • Assist program management with special assignments and engineering tasks in developing, prototyping, testing, and producing custom systems.
  • Create and maintain the Product Definition Document (PDD).
  • Handle the technical portion of the Engineering Change Order (ECO).
  • Assist in the design of subsystems and integration of total systems.
  • Determine system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for electrical, hardware, and software systems.
  • Create CAD drawings of cable assemblies and system diagrams.
  • Evaluate and test systems for compliance with customer specifications.
  • Recommend design changes to improve overall system performance.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Develop and execute customer and factory acceptance test plans.

Requirements

  • BCSC/BSEE/BSME/ISE/AE degree or equivalent technical degree in engineering or minimum of 3 to 5 years as a Systems Engineer, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Electronics or Field Technician.
  • Specific experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Radio frequency (RF) Broadcast or satellite engineering.
  • Skills in electronics circuit assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, CAD programs, and ERP System.
  • Must be a U.S. or Green Card holder for authorized access to controlled technology/data as subject to ITAR.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and passport.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with audio/video/multi-media systems.
  • Familiarity with navigation systems, hard drives, and electronic test equipment.
