About the position

The Systems Engineer role at TEKsystems involves advanced systems installation, operation, integration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal IT system operations. The position requires designing and overseeing upgrades and new installations of IT systems while coordinating with Cyber Security Specialists. The engineer will perform Tier III upgrades and troubleshooting of networking systems, ensuring the sustainability of current network operations and overseeing their recovery when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced systems installation, operation, integration, and troubleshooting to maintain optimum IT system operations.
• Design and oversee upgrades and new installations of IT systems and services, ensuring coordination with Cyber Security Specialists.
• Perform Tier III upgrades of networking systems, IT systems, and storage networking.
• Conduct Tier III troubleshooting, optimization, and performance management of IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
• Integrate enterprise, regional, and local IT systems to sustain current network operations or oversee their recovery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree plus 10 years of IT experience.
• Active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) required.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to clearance requirements.
• Must possess a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification.
