About the position

The Systems Engineer role at Dexian involves managing and optimizing Apache NiFi systems, supporting data flow and transformation capabilities, and ensuring the integration of various ETL tools in both on-premises and AWS environments. The position requires a strong background in scripting, database management, and cloud technologies, with a focus on security and compliance in a corporate setting.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, manage, and maintain NiFi systems on-prem and in AWS.
• Implement audit, security, and risk controls to secure data in both on-prem and cloud environments.
• Identify NiFi flow-related issues and assist developers in triaging their data flows.
• Create, manage, and troubleshoot NiFi data flows, including data ingestion, processing, transformation, and distribution.
• Participate in design discussions and offer consulting services to the Business and Architecture community.
• Be the subject matter expert and point-of-contact for core technical capabilities, onboarding new projects, and operationalizing procedures.
• Prepare Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) documents and define RACI matrix for projects.
• Ensure sound architecture, technical design, performance, and solutions for projects/programs.
• Collaborate with application experts and infrastructure teams to find optimal solutions related to capacity, security, and performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Apache NiFi system administration experience.
• 5+ years supporting Kafka, Informatica, Talend, or other ETL tools.
• 5+ years of scripting experience using Shell, Python, Perl, or JavaScript.
• 2+ years of experience porting tools/applications on AWS Cloud.
• Required SQL & PL/SQL experience and other database programming languages to manipulate and manage data.
• 5+ years of solid experience working in a Linux CLI/Bash Shell environment.
• 3+ years of Java application development experience is desirable.
• Experience with GitHub, Bitbucket, or other code repository tools.
• Experience working in a corporate environment with strict security & compliance policies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of Informatica/Snaplogic Admin experience is nice to have.
• Familiarity with Java, J2EE, Embedded SQL, Forms, Reports, etc.
