About the position

The Automation Engineer at Bristol Myers Squibb is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the DeltaV System at the Bothell Cell Therapy plant. This role involves collaboration with various departments and vendors to understand system requirements and develop effective solutions. The engineer will also be tasked with project documentation, system testing, validation, and providing training on DeltaV systems, while staying updated on industry trends in automation technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain DeltaV & OSI PI systems at BMS Bothell site.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure performance and quality standards are met.
  • Provide training to clients on the use of DeltaV systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in automation technologies.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting services as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, Science field or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Expertise in process automation systems, preferably DeltaV.
  • Knowledge of S88, S95, and batch processing operations.
  • Understanding of engineering documentation such as P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot control systems from the field element up through operator interfaces and databases.
  • Experience with life cycle management of automation systems; patch scheduling, and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Experience with control system networking technologies, PC networking technology, and virtualization preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with SQL, Server, Oracle, or other relational databases preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Visual Basic or other scripting languages preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills including oral, written, and formal presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
