About the position

The Systems Engineer will support the Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program Office by providing technical solutions to complex problems. This role involves systems engineering expertise in development, integration, operational, and sustainment for various UAS systems, as well as participation in Integrated Product Teams and working groups. The engineer will utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and apply Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles, while also preparing and delivering reports and briefings to customers regarding program status and findings.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical solutions to complex problems related to UAS systems.
• Offer systems engineering technical expertise in development, integration, operational, and sustainment phases.
• Participate in Integrated Product Teams and working groups.
• Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools effectively.
• Prepare and deliver reports and briefings to customers on program status, issues, analyses, findings, and recommendations.

Requirements

• BS in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience.
• Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as Rhapsody SysML, System Architect, RSA, Rhapsody Harmony SE, Rhapsody DoDAF, RoseRT, and Cameo MagicDraw.
• Familiarity with military aviation regulations and standards, including MIL-STD-882E and MIL-STD-1797A.
• Experience with the development of systems/sub-systems requirements and systems/software integration.

Nice-to-haves

• MS in a related field.
• Experience with requirements development, decomposition, and traceability using DOORS and ReqPro.
• Experience with Uncrewed Systems.
• Experience with aviation system development and engineering.
• Experience with Agile development methodology.
• Experience with Mounted Mission Command platform and NOC systems.
