About the position

Parsons is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to support missile hardware engineering within the Propulsion and Structures Division of the THAAD Missile Product Office. This role involves working on missile components, providing technical expertise, and collaborating with a cross-functional team to ensure successful hardware development, integration, testing, and production.

Responsibilities

  • Support the focal point for THAAD Missile hardware development, integration, test, production, and sustainment.
  • Provide technical expertise on missile components including thrust vector actuator, boost motor, shroud, kill vehicle midbody, divert and attitude control system (DACS), and ordnance systems.
  • Interface with senior engineers in the technical review of THAAD Missile design updates.
  • Review test plans, requirements, and evaluate component/interceptor performance related to updates and design changes.
  • Plan, define, evaluate, and monitor contract tasks involving THAAD Missile design, development, evaluation, test, and production.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM program and 3+ years of engineering experience with design, development, testing, manufacturing, or sustainment of mechanical or electrical systems.
  • Understanding and application of sound engineering principles related to component design, interoperability, failure investigation, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience working in a high intensity environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including creation and presentation of briefing materials.
  • Strong computer skills - working knowledge of MS Office suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with mechanical or electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of structural or propulsion operations, mechanical integration, thermal requirements and analysis.
  • Detailed design and manufacturing experience with high reliability missile components qualified to demanding environments.
  • Experience applying engineering and DOD acquisition process, policies, procedures, and practices.
