About the position

The Systems Engineer at Guidehouse plays a crucial role in supporting the Department of Justice by managing and maintaining eDiscovery platforms. This position requires navigating complex technical and legal challenges associated with data proliferation, ensuring high availability and routine operation of systems, and developing innovative solutions to enhance eDiscovery workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Support eDiscovery Review, Analysis, and Preservation platforms such as Veritas eDiscovery Platform, Relativity, and Enterprise Vault.
  • Perform engineering and administrative services in support of electronic discovery operations and maintenance.
  • Ensure high availability and routine operation of eDiscovery systems, including training and developing standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in teleconferences or technical meetings to review, educate, and support program objectives.
  • Process storage requests, migrations, and decommission tasks.
  • Monitor failed system components and coordinate vendor and intra-agency support.
  • Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TOP SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree or FOUR (4) years of IT experience in lieu of degree requirement.
  • FOUR (4) or more years of Systems Engineer/Administrator experience.
  • TWO (2) or more years of previous experience in architecting and designing complex high-availability systems.
  • Experience as systems administrator supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 in large physical and virtual infrastructures.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and network architecture.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience researching and resolving customer product support complaints and issues.
  • Experience supporting Veritas Enterprise Vault or similar platforms for THREE (3) or more years.
  • Experience supporting eDiscovery Review and Analysis platforms such as Veritas eDiscovery Platform, Relativity, or equivalent for THREE (3) or more years.
  • Knowledge of VMWare administration and tools.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization concepts, deploying systems and payloads to AWS or Azure.
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise IT systems such as MS Exchange, Enterprise Vault, file servers, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work independently with high initiative and excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Continuity of Operations (COOP) and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Strong skills with researching and resolving tier 2 and tier 3 customer support.
