About the position

The Collins Aerospace Internship Program is designed to recruit and develop future talent for the aerospace and defense industry. This internship offers students a short-term work assignment where they will gain hands-on experience in design engineering testing, specifically related to fire protection products for aviation and ground vehicles. Interns will assist in various testing projects, contributing to the development and qualification of safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in running qualification testing
• Create qualification test plan, test procedure, and test result documentation
• Perform development testing
• Troubleshoot test issues that occur in both development and qualification testing
• Assist with periodic testing of production parts as needed
• Provide any additional support to the design engineering test group as needed.

Requirements

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of programs
• Great teamwork and communication skills
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Educational experience in either mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering
