About the position

Ready to make a difference? BAE Systems is looking for Systems Engineering Leads to work as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team to design, integrate, debug, and test next generation Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. Focused on delivering innovative EW solutions, individual technical contributions on a related range of Programs will include system development, requirements development, integration & test, and test planning and execution in a field deployment environment. This position will require you to be onsite in either Nashua NH or Manchester NH. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time. Responsibilities may include leading a medium or large team of Systems Engineers on EW related programs, managing all system engineering content and work products, understanding and implementing the product development process, and having schedule and cost account responsibilities for the systems team. You will execute systems planning and requirements development, create and review systems requirements to include software, component, subsystem, and operational concepts, and allocate requirements to engineering disciplines. Additionally, you will create system test plans, procedures, and reports, lead product design, development, integration, and verification, and have outside contact with customers, other contractors, and government officials. You will also manage and participate in trade studies, peer reviews, and customer meetings, prepare and deliver technical presentations internally and with customers, and monitor and report metrics such as System Technical Performance Measures. Furthermore, you will support proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost and schedule estimating, and presentation activities. Responsibilities

  • Leading a medium or large team of Systems Engineers on EW related programs
  • Managing all system engineering content and work products
  • Understanding and implementing the product development process
  • Schedule and cost account responsibilities for systems team
  • Execution of systems planning and requirements development
  • Creation and review of systems requirements to include software, component, subsystem, and operational concepts
  • Allocation of requirements to engineering disciplines
  • Creating system test plans, procedures and reports
  • Leading product design, development, integration, and verification
  • Managing and participating in trade studies, peer reviews, and customer meetings
  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations internally and with customers
  • Monitoring and reporting metrics such as System Technical Performance Measures
  • Supporting proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost and schedule estimating, and presentation activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science (or equivalent experience in a relevant field) with a minimum work experience of 12+ Years with BS, 10+ Years with MS, or 8+ Years with PhD
  • Possess an Active US Government security clearance (with ability to possess TS)
  • Leadership skills and experience directing and mentoring engineers on complex programs
  • Expert in effectively documenting, communicating, leading and working with a team on designs, results, reports, and presentations
  • Experience performing systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test)
  • Experience developing viable concept solutions, identifying and tracking technical risks, and leading technical teams
  • EVMS certification and CAM experience required

Nice-to-haves

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 11 years of experience or Ph.D. with 9 years of experience
  • Experience with EW and/or Radar and Missile Systems
  • Experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management
  • Model based systems engineering experience with tools such as MagicDraw
  • Familiarity or experience with Agile Systems Engineering
  • Active United States security clearance, Top Secret, SCI Eligible
