About the position

BAE Systems is seeking Systems Engineering Leads to join a cross-functional team focused on designing, integrating, debugging, and testing next-generation Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. The role involves leading a team of engineers, managing system engineering content, and ensuring successful execution of system planning and requirements development in a collaborative environment. This position requires a strong technical background and leadership skills to drive innovative solutions in the field of Electronic Warfare.

Responsibilities

• Leading a medium or large team of Systems Engineers on EW-related programs
• Managing all system engineering content and work products
• Understanding and implementing the product development process
• Schedule and cost account responsibilities for systems team
• Execution of systems planning and requirements development
• Creation and review of systems requirements including software, component, subsystem, and operational concepts
• Allocation of requirements to engineering disciplines
• Creating system test plans, procedures, and reports
• Leading product design, development, integration, and verification
• Managing and participating in trade studies, peer reviews, and customer meetings
• Preparing and delivering technical presentations internally and with customers
• Monitoring and reporting metrics such as System Technical Performance Measures
• Supporting proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost and schedule estimating, and presentation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Science or equivalent experience in a relevant field
• 12+ years of experience with a BS, 10+ years with an MS, or 8+ years with a PhD
• Possess an Active US Government security clearance (with ability to possess TS)
• Leadership skills and experience directing and mentoring engineers on complex programs
• Expert in effectively documenting, communicating, leading, and working with a team on designs, results, reports, and presentations
• Experience performing systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test)
• Experience developing viable concept solutions, identifying and tracking technical risks, and leading technical teams.

Nice-to-haves

• M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline and 11 years of experience or Ph.D. with 9 years of experience
• Experience with EW and/or Radar and Missile Systems
• Experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management
• Model-based systems engineering experience with tools such as MagicDraw
• Familiarity or experience with Agile Systems Engineering
• Active United States security clearance, Top Secret, SCI Eligible.
