About the position

The Systems Engineering Intern at Texas Instruments will engage in the design and performance optimization of piezo resonators, focusing on Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to define product specifications and contribute to the development of advanced MEMS chips and systems. The intern will utilize simulation tools to enhance design quality and stability, while also gaining hands-on experience in the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a piezo resonator design and performance optimization project.
  • Utilize Finite Element Method (FEM) simulation tools to optimize design quality and temperature stability.
  • Receive training on design targets, fabrication processes, and system applications.
  • Develop advanced MEMS chips and system products from concept.
  • Evaluate silicon and systems solutions, including hardware and software documentation.
  • Provide complete documentation for each development lifecycle step.
  • Perform troubleshooting and debugging on system-related issues.
  • Analyze key end-equipment in various sectors to identify future trends and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (MEMS major) or related field.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge in fundamentals of piezoelectric and capacitive MEMS devices.
  • Knowledge of finite element simulation tools (COMSOL, ANSYS) and signal processing tools (Matlab).
  • Experience with system design, including writing IC design specifications and developing algorithms.
  • Experience with schematic design, PCB layout, circuit debugging, and system testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex problems and navigate uncertainty.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
