About the position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Summer 2025 Intern for the Huntsville Operations Analysis Group, focusing on model development and analysis. The intern will work in a dynamic team environment, supporting Independent Research and Development (IRAD) projects and program tasks. The role involves solving complex strike and missile defense problems, interfacing with senior analysts, and contributing to the development and maintenance of simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Support code development for simulation tools.
• Conduct analysis runs and generate threat trajectories.
• Maintain post processors for COBRA and GHOST models.
• Develop MATLAB models for algorithms and optimization techniques.
• Translate interceptor, radar, and battle management concepts into simulation inputs.
• Generate outputs to support analysis products.
• Work across LINUX and Windows operating systems.

Requirements

• Ability to receive and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and Top Secret Clearance.
• Strong MATLAB skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to document work in memorandum form.
• Willingness to take on detailed technical assignments requiring advanced math models and algorithms.

Nice-to-haves

• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Strong C++ or other modern programming language skills.
• Knowledge of missile defense threats.
• Familiarity with AFSIM and STK.
