About the position

The Systems Engineering Lead Engineer position at Eaton's IS AER MSD division is a remote role focused on supporting research and new product development in aerospace applications. The engineer will be responsible for requirements management, system architecture development, and integration and testing of thermal fluid and dynamic mechanical systems. This role requires technical oversight, collaboration with global teams, and the ability to tailor systems engineering practices to meet program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support Bid & Proposal Efforts by reviewing customer requirements documents and defining areas of risk.
  • Collaborate with the product team to manage requirements, including writing, allocating, and tracing specifications.
  • Define system architecture by creating physical, functional, and behavioral models, and identifying interfaces between systems and subsystems.
  • Support integration and test efforts by aligning modeling and simulation analysis with test plans and identifying technical integration risks.
  • Contribute to Eaton Aerospace Process development by defining standard work documents and developing metrics for SE process implementation.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Systems Engineering, developing skills matrices and training plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in aerospace industry as System Engineer.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SySML language.
  • Ability to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship.
  • Familiarity with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and access to export-controlled information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in System Engineering.
  • 2 years of experience with CAMEO.
  • 3-5 years of experience with DOORS.
  • Experience with design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
  • Experience supporting complete product life cycle.
  • Membership in a Professional Society Related to Discipline (e.g., INCOSE).
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green Belt certification or ability to complete within 1 year.
