About the position

The Systems Integration Engineer will play a crucial role in leading the requirements gathering, bring-up, validation, and triage of AI Data Collection Hardware at Figure, an AI Robotics company. This position involves collaboration with various teams to ensure the successful integration of custom electromechanical hardware and software, aimed at enhancing AI model training through effective data collection.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the AI team to understand data collection hardware needs.
• Coordinate across mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, and technician teams to plan and execute first article bring-ups.
• Build and oversee the execution of benchtop validation.
• Plan and execute integration with the full robot stack and subsequent system-level validation for AI data collection.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of integration processes, test plans, and validation results.
• Perpetually respond to system failures, including coordinating failure analysis and driving solutions from conception to fully delivered.

Requirements

• Relevant experience integrating custom mechatronic systems for real products.
• Depth in electronics and embedded systems.
• Excellent communication and planning skills.
• Hands-on, highly technical approach to integration.
