As a Systems Integration Engineer at Viasat, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to designing and developing advanced Remote Sensing Antenna Systems and Satellite Communications Terminals. Your role will involve a variety of tasks that are crucial to the successful integration and testing of these systems. You will be responsible for the design and documentation of cabling interfaces between and within major assemblies on antenna systems, ensuring that all components are selected and integrated according to specifications. This position requires a strong understanding of network planning and setup activities, as you will be actively involved in customer design reviews, presenting your design solutions in alignment with customer requirements. In addition to design responsibilities, you will prepare test plans and procedures, conduct factory and site acceptance tests, and summarize your findings in technical reports. Your expertise will also be needed in advising on the selection and setup of specialized test equipment, including BER, Group Delay, G/T, and Servo response testing. A mechanical background will be beneficial, as you may assist in the assembly of the mechanical structures of the antenna systems both at Viasat and in the field. Maintaining good customer relations will be essential, as you will represent Viasat on-site. You will utilize AutoCAD to create essential documents such as interconnects, schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable drawings. Additionally, you will maintain an indentured drawing list and structure a bill of materials for ordering parts. You will share the responsibility of leading the integration and testing of antenna systems at both the factory and customer sites, conducting system-level testing such as G/T, EIRP, BERT, and servo dynamics with support from your team.
