Generac is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer with a strong understanding in Electronics to join our Clean Energy team. This role is pivotal in contributing to Generac's home standby battery systems, and as a member of our team, you will help shape the direction of next-generation renewable energy products at Generac. We are looking for someone who has a genuine passion for engineering products that will fundamentally change the world's energy infrastructure and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This position is based out of our Bedford, MA office, which will be relocating to North Billerica in the September/October timeframe. In this role, you will take accountability for discipline and product boundary challenges, defining solutions across electrical, mechanical, and firmware domains. This includes system I/O, CAN database architecture, power up/down sequencing, fault and fault recovery sequencing, firmware state diagram definition, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as UL 1547, 1741, and 9540. You will be responsible for defining systems diagrams and integration at a multi-discipline level to create a cohesive and integrated home battery storage ecosystem. Your responsibilities will also include gathering requirements from compliance, product owners, executives, and engineering teams to drive full ecosystem definition. You will need a strong aptitude for testing and validation, identifying product gaps, and holding yourself and your teams to excellent quality standards. Deliverables will include DVP&R, DFMEA, DFM, and DFT requirements. You should be able to dive into any engineering domain to understand problems quickly and come to solutions in the appropriate discipline area. As the engineering product leader, you will understand the ‘big picture’ and drive answers to open-ended questions for the team. You will need to break down silos between teams to create the best integrated product and organize complicated information to form requirements that consider the full system and all engineering teams. Effective communication is key, as you will share information quickly and articulate problems and solutions with precision to all stakeholders involved in a program.
