As a Systems Integration Engineer for the Gateway Ready Avionic Integration Lab (GRAIL), you will play a pivotal role in the integration activities that support NASA's Gateway Program, which aims to return humans to the Moon. This position is part of the JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX, and offers the flexibility of 100% telework, allowing you to work from anywhere in the USA, with occasional travel to the Johnson Space Center or the nearest NASA center to your home. Your primary responsibilities will include collaborating with lab personnel, partners, providers, and testing stakeholders to understand interface and testing requirements. You will leverage your knowledge of interfaces to ensure that the lab design meets the necessary specifications and testing objectives. In this role, you will uphold lab verification efforts, ensuring that the facility is suitable for assigned testing. You will assist in lab equipment testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to confirm that all equipment meets the required standards and is satisfactorily integrated. Documentation is a critical aspect of this position; you will be responsible for maintaining strict records of integration processes, equipment specifications, configurations, and testing results. Compliance with regulatory and safety standards is paramount, and you will provide support to lab personnel and external customers regarding integrated systems and their specifications. Additionally, you will participate in system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews, contributing to the overall success of the project. Effective communication and organization will be essential as you work within a team environment to meet deadlines and achieve project goals. This position requires a proactive approach to reassessing documents, policies, and procedures for future configurations of the lab, ensuring that all integration activities are conducted efficiently and effectively.
