About the position

The Systems Integration Engineer Intern at Wisk is a 12-week, hands-on internship program aimed at providing students with real-world experience in the development and integration of passenger systems for autonomous aircraft. The intern will work closely with the Interiors and Passenger Systems team to contribute to the design and functionality of cabin systems, ensuring a seamless passenger experience in Wisk's Gen6 cabin.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and integration of systems related to interior design, ergonomics, and passenger experience for autonomous aircraft.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Structures, Aircraft, Safety, and Certification to achieve design requirements.
  • Assist with requirements gathering, system modeling (MBSE), and trade studies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support testing and validation activities of new systems in simulation environments and on physical prototypes.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to documentation for system architecture and performance.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of components and alignment with system requirements.
  • Assist with program management activities, including tracking milestones and maintaining project schedules.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and status updates for internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027.
  • Preferred majors include Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience or coursework in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), human factors engineering, aerospace design, or mechanical systems is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of program management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira) and understanding of project tracking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with eagerness to learn new techniques.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Passion for aviation and aerospace, particularly in electric, autonomous, and sustainable flight.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in aerospace design or mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with human factors engineering.
