About the position

The Systems Integration Engineer will support the engineering team in implementing and maintaining Epiroc Automation products. This role involves developing innovative solutions based on end-user and marketing needs, as well as verifying and validating automation products through testing and troubleshooting hardware and software components. The engineer will also plan and build the organization's systems infrastructure, implement, modify, and design information systems, and monitor their performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop products by studying customer requirements and researching different solutions.
  • Assess and calculate the technical features of a project plan to ensure that systems engineering procedures are operating correctly.
  • Use computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the product.
  • Establish, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Prepare Bills of Material (BOM) and provide the purchasing department with specifications for ordering electrical components and assemblies.
  • Study test data and make comparisons with similar designs.
  • Handle product change requests by modifying current product designs and completing product change notices.
  • Plan and implement systems automation for better efficiency.
  • Focus on workflows, optimization methods, and risk management tools for given projects.
  • Perform other assignments as instructed by the manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer) or Computer Science.
  • Knowledge or experience in computer networking is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of software programming is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and/or hydraulic systems is a plus.
  • Training and experience in control system design and logic is beneficial.
  • Ability to work on or around mining equipment.
  • Ability to travel, including some international travel (total travel: 10%).
  • Good written, verbal communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally and collaboratively with others within the organization.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Participation in a cross-functional team to develop new products, sustain current products, detect problems, implement solutions, assist operations, and provide aftermarket support.
