About the position

Leidos is seeking a System Integration Engineer to join a high-performing agile team that utilizes the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology. This role is crucial for providing support in adding new capabilities to a complex system that has stringent interface, performance, and security requirements. The program execution adheres to DEVOPS best practices and employs robust development, testing, and production environments. The team is engaged in Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and utilizes test automation tools alongside a comprehensive suite of team collaboration tools. As the prime contractor, Leidos is responsible for system engineering, development, testing, integration, and operational support. This fast-paced program focuses on integrating new technology and enhancing capabilities while maintaining support for ongoing missions and operational systems. The selected individual will be responsible for full lifecycle support, which includes high-level requirements gathering, systems design input, and end-to-end system integration and deployment. The candidate will develop and implement strategies to maintain and improve internal functionality, enhance performance with both internal and external systems, protect critical data sets, and assess system and network vulnerabilities. A strong background in system administration, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with current automation technologies to minimize manual intervention are essential. Responsibilities will also include technical planning, system design and integration decisions, and risk evaluation, along with minimal physical tasks such as racking and cabling, manual device configuration, and software deployment when necessary.

  • Support the development of system configuration documentation, including risk assessments and analyses of alternatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field, and at least eight (8) years of related experience, or a master's degree and at least six (6) years of relevant experience.

  • Linux system administration experience.
  • Virtualization experience via any industry standard hypervisor.
  • Experience deploying application software including application servers.
  • Ability to work on multiple infrastructure networks simultaneously to support various systems in different manufacturing and debugging stages.
  • Experience developing system analysis, risk analysis, and/or vulnerability assessments.
  • Capability to develop creative solutions to issues that arise and ensure they are tracked in the Development, Integration, and Production environments before deployment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves
