About the position

The Systems Inventory Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive statewide system and application inventory and tracking program. This role is critical in ensuring that all systems and applications used across the state are properly documented, tracked, and managed. The PM will collaborate closely with key state stakeholders, including the State Chief Information Security Officer (SCISO), Chief Data Officer (CDO), Chief Privacy Officer (CPO), and the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Advisor. This collaboration is essential to align the inventory program with state policies and regulations, ensuring compliance and security across all technology platforms. In addition to the inventory program, the PM may also support the management of additional project engagements for the Department of Information Technology (DoIT). This could involve overseeing various IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The PM will be expected to utilize their expertise in project management to guide teams through the project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, while maintaining a focus on quality and stakeholder satisfaction. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. The PM will need to develop risk and impact assessments to identify potential challenges and devise strategies to mitigate them. Strong leadership skills are essential, as the PM will be responsible for guiding project teams and ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders involved in the projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a statewide system and application inventory and tracking program.
  • Collaborate with key state stakeholders including SCISO, CDO, CPO, and AI Advisor.
  • Support the management of additional project engagements for the Department of Information Technology (DoIT).
  • Design, develop, and implement IT processes, services, and capabilities.
  • Develop or support system and application inventory engagements.
  • Conduct risk and impact assessments for projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Management, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Current Project Management Certification (i.e., PMP).
  • At least five (5) years proven experience in Technology (IT) Project Management or an additional two (2) years experience in substitution of a degree.
  • At least two (2) years experience in designing, developing, and implementing IT processes, services, and capabilities.
  • At least two (2) years experience in developing or supporting system and application inventory engagements.
  • At least two (2) years experience in developing risk and impact assessments.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least five (5) years of experience managing IT-related projects with a leadership role in at least three (3) successful projects delivered on time and on budget.
  • Experience performing project activities in alignment with NIST Standards.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Additional Project Management or related certifications.
