About the position

Join MiTek as an Electrical Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in designing and analyzing complex electrical and robotic systems within the building industry. This position focuses on innovation and automation technology, requiring a strong desire to grow and showcase your talents. You will lead projects from conception through deployment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices while mentoring less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, evaluate, & support automated industrial machinery products with a focus on New Product Development (NPD).
  • Lead team members through the planning, development, and deployment of complex electrical architectures.
  • Generate electrical project execution artifacts for small to large scale deployments.
  • Lead electrical team members through the staged-gating process including requirements reviews and design reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and implement root cause/corrective actions with team members.
  • Design, integrate, and test electrical parts and assemblies using industry best practices.
  • Work with software developers to generate system logic and controls.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including system requirements and engineering drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with MiTek engineering procedures and industry standards.
  • Perform engineering analysis and calculations as needed.
  • Support various departments throughout a product's lifecycle.
  • Mentor less experienced electrical engineers and designers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical or systems engineering.
  • Integration and testing experience with robotics or automation.
  • Experience with validation of requirements and requirements development.
  • Utilization of vision systems and robotics experience.
  • Proficiency with PLCs, motor controllers, VFDs, servos, and sensors.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot automated systems rapidly.
  • Understanding of power distribution, circuit breakers, and terminal blocks.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LabVIEW and/or other software development environments.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders.
