About the position

The Clark County Finance Department is seeking qualified candidates for the Systems Programmer I/II position within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) office. This role involves supporting ERP systems that facilitate key HR/Payroll, Financial, and other related processes for employees and customers. The position is part of a dynamic team that contributes to various county operations, including Judicial, Public Safety, and Public Works.

Responsibilities

• Installs, configures, and modifies large scale computer operating systems and utility programs.
• Performs assembler and higher language programming to support inter-data base and inter-system interfaces.
• Analyzes and resolves terminal and network problems reported by users.
• Modifies, tests, and implements changes to County communications software.
• Coordinates with applications programming staff for necessary modifications to systems software.
• Installs, tests, and implements vendor-supplied modifications to existing software.
• Evaluates, tests, and recommends hardware and software for County computing requirements.
• Plans and develops test data to validate new or modified programs.
• Troubleshoots hardware and software problems for customers and other agencies.
• Maintains records and documentation of systems installations and modifications.

Requirements

• Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Processing, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Two years of full-time professional experience in applications or systems programming for Systems Programmer I.
• Two additional years of experience in the installation and maintenance of operating system software for large-scale computers for Systems Programmer II.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with vendor and third-party tools for infrastructure support.
• Knowledge of programming and scripting for different systems interfaces.
