About the position

The Systems Security Engineer (SSE) at Amentum will support programmatic and acquisition guidance in areas related to Anti-Tamper (AT), Hardware Assurance (HwA), and cybersecurity of hardware. This role involves direct interaction with microelectronics lab assessment capabilities and requires a comprehensive understanding of supply chain assurance and security assessments. The SSE will guide program offices on enhancing their system protection measures.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external team members to define, decompose, allocate, implement, and assess cyber security requirements for a resilient security design solution.
  • Prepare formal presentations, written documentation, reports, and briefings.
  • Coordinate and conduct cyber risk analyses and security assessment methods.
  • Capture information on customer systems and operations, focusing on commercial hardware in use.
  • Assess the risk posture for the customer based on captured information.
  • Develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) for hardware assurance and supply chain risk management efforts.
  • Identify and recommend high priority assessments or efforts to be conducted.
  • Recommend Courses of Action (COAs) to mitigate cyber risks based on impact and cost.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and foster a collaborative engineering team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering; additional consideration for a minor or focus in Cybersecurity or a recognized cybersecurity certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or GIAC/SANS certifications).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in system development and/or acquisition.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance; US Citizenship is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Systems Engineering concepts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Systems Security Engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Ten (10) years of experience with DoD system acquisition.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
