About the position

The Systems Security Engineer (SSE) role at Amentum focuses on providing programmatic and acquisition guidance in the areas of Anti-Tamper, Hardware Assurance, and cybersecurity of hardware. The SSE will work closely with program offices to enhance their systems' security posture, leveraging expertise in supply chain assurance and security assessments. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the implementation of effective cyber-resilient security design solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external team members to define, decompose, allocate, implement, and assess cyber security requirements.
  • Prepare formal presentations, written documentation, reports, and briefings.
  • Coordinate and conduct cyber risk analyses and security assessment methods.
  • Capture information on customer systems and operations, focusing on commercial hardware.
  • Assess the risk posture for the customer based on captured information.
  • Develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) for hardware assurance and supply chain risk management efforts.
  • Identify and recommend high priority assessments or efforts to be conducted.
  • Recommend Courses of Action (COAs) to mitigate cyber risks based on impact and cost.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences to establish mission goals and prioritize tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in system development and/or acquisition.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts.
  • Understanding of Systems Security Engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Ten (10) years experience with DoD system acquisition.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
