About the position

The System Security Engineer (SSE) at Amentum plays a crucial role in supporting programmatic and acquisition guidance related to systems security engineering, focusing on Anti-Tamper (AT), Hardware Assurance (HwA), and cybersecurity of hardware. This position involves direct interaction with microelectronics lab assessment capabilities and requires a comprehensive understanding of supply chain assurance, hardware assurance, and security assessments. The SSE will guide program offices in enhancing their system protection measures and ensuring a cyber-resilient security design solution.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external team members to define, decompose, allocate, implement, and assess cyber security requirements.
  • Prepare formal presentations, written documentation, reports, and briefings.
  • Coordinate and conduct cyber risk analyses and security assessment methods.
  • Capture information on customer systems and operations, focusing on commercial hardware.
  • Assess the risk posture for the customer based on captured information.
  • Develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) for hardware assurance and supply chain risk management efforts.
  • Identify and recommend high priority assessments or efforts to be conducted.
  • Recommend Courses of Action (COAs) to mitigate cyber risks based on impact and cost.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences to establish mission goals and prioritize tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering; additional consideration for a minor in Cybersecurity or a recognized cybersecurity certification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in system development and/or acquisition.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts.
  • Understanding of Systems Security Engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Ten (10) years of experience with DoD system acquisition.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
