As a Systems Software and Network Test Engineer at Booz Allen, you will play a pivotal role in developing efficient and effective software solutions that are user-focused and production-ready. Your expertise in software engineering, combined with a strong background in networking, will enable you to leverage the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks to deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions for our clients. In this dynamic and agile environment, you will be responsible for analyzing the operational environment to ensure that your team's solutions are not only functional but also scalable and adaptable for future enhancements. Your role will involve system integration tasks, including upgrades, testing, and configuration of network components on the Emulation Test Bed. You will support system testing by developing test scenarios, executing test runs, and monitoring network data capture. Your analytical skills will be crucial as you analyze network data collected during test runs and produce insightful data products for management review. Additionally, you will develop performance metrics such as throughput, latency, and packet completion rates, and create network topology graphs to assess their impact on connectivity during tests. In this position, you will also be tasked with identifying anomalous network behavior, providing explanations, and suggesting resolutions. You will have the opportunity to design and develop new GUI screens to display network performance statistics and update the TRANCE backend PCAP parser to recognize packets from VLAN locations. This role requires a Secret clearance and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience in software and systems engineering.
