About the position

The position involves leading Systems Engineering projects for customers, focusing on SCADA Systems, PLC Programming, and Industrial Networking. The role requires project management, testing, and problem-solving of instrumentation and control systems, ensuring timely and safe execution of tasks. The individual will establish and manage project teams, maintain schedules, and communicate effectively with management and project elements while providing leadership and mentoring to direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Systems Engineering projects for customers in the region.
  • Manage SCADA Systems, PLC Programming, AutoCAD Electrical, and Industrial Networking.
  • Perform project management, testing, and system problem-solving of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Conduct calibrations, field maintenance, upgrades, installations, troubleshooting, commissioning, and repair of industrial control systems.
  • Establish and manage project teams, set and maintain schedules, and facilitate logistics.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to direct reports and project teams.
  • Collaborate with peers, engineers, and technicians to resolve project backlogs.
  • Identify customer opportunities for upgrades/improvements and define professional solutions.
  • Exhibit a high level of professional competency to customers and team members.
  • Ensure timely submission of timesheets and expense reports.

Requirements

  • Strong background in electrical/electronic engineering, process instrumentation, and process engineering.
  • Self-motivated and self-driven with the ability to self-manage.
  • High energy, technically competent, and resourceful with attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent math, computer, and mechanical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visual Basic and/or other basic programming software.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or other computer-aided design software.
  • Understanding of networks and network structure.
  • Programming experience in multiple languages and scripting techniques.
  • Strong understanding of industrial controls and process controls including PID loops and pump control.
  • Experience with analog current loops and their conversion processes.
  • Strong electrical knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical Code.
  • Knowledge of required equipment including hand tools, volt-ohm meters, and power tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • BS/Associates/Technical Degree or extensive professional experience required.
  • 1-3 years' experience programming PLCs (Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, Siemens, etc.).
  • 2 years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing Process/Control equipment.
  • 1-3+ years' experience with computer-based HMI software (Wonderware, VTSCADA, Lookout, etc.).
  • Mechanical and electrical installation experience and aptitude.
  • Basic familiarity with radio-based communications and protocols.
