About the position

The Systems Specialist at Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises is responsible for ensuring the stable operation of in-house computer software and hardware systems, as well as network connections. This role involves planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing server and network hardware, while also providing technical support and training to end users. The specialist will analyze and resolve software and connectivity issues, ensuring efficient operation within the casino environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administrate all operating systems and their corresponding or associated software.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinating with appropriate parties.
  • Manage and ensure the integrity of host computers, multiple databases, and data transfer.
  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user applications.
  • Distribute and supervise server storage space allotments.
  • Assist in designing and implementing disaster recovery plans for operating systems, databases, networks, servers, and software applications.
  • Provide on-call technical support.
  • Assess the need for any system reconfigurations and execute them if required.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems roadmap and development efforts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Perform system backups.
  • Monitor and test server software performance and provide statistics and reports.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
  • Provide guidance and support for Tier II.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in computer science, MIS, CIS, or Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Windows Active Directory.
  • 3-5 years of System Administration in a large scale environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with File servers and patch management.
  • Extensive application support experience with Microsoft products, including Exchange Server and Systems Center Suite.
  • Application support experience with Point of Sale, Property Management Systems, ERP, and Casino Management Systems.
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP.
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred certifications in A+, N+, MCSA or MCSE, VCP or NetApp.
