About the position

The Systems Technician position at GDIT involves supporting and managing the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware for government clients. This role requires hands-on technical skills, particularly in hardware installations and maintenance, and demands a proactive approach to customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support for information systems applications and related hardware.
• Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware and software.
• Provide end-user software troubleshooting and support.
• Coordinate the development of deliverables and products.
• Participate in the administration of e-mail systems.
• Track project studies, plans, and action items.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
• Participate in special projects as required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of related experience in IT operations support.
• AA/AS degree or equivalent experience.
• Must possess appropriate and current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification, such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), or CCNA-Security.
• Active Directory experience and solid Microsoft/Outlook skills.
• Experience with hardware installations and maintenance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with electronic ticketing systems.
• Attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
