About the position

As a Systems Test Engineer 2 at Garmin, you will play a crucial role in providing system testing support for the developmental requirements of OEM programs. Your primary responsibility will be to communicate the status and schedule for system testing needs that are applicable to planned deliveries. You will work closely with development teams, providing feedback to ensure that solutions are designed to meet the necessary system testing requirements. This role also involves troubleshooting support to identify the root causes of system issues, ensuring that you provide clear and sufficient details about any observed issues for both internal and external customers. In addition to troubleshooting, you will be tasked with identifying and implementing improvements to system testing processes and tools. This includes modifying existing tools for enhanced use in system testing and supporting the troubleshooting of issues reported by simulation companies. You will also develop improvements to the data packages delivered to simulator companies and anticipate their qualification needs, creating reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem-solving techniques. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring that Garmin's products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of several complex integrated avionic functions
  • Demonstrates mastery of relevant tools for use in system testing
  • Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of requirements for simulator qualification

Nice-to-haves

  • Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
  • Previous work or internship experience with consumer or aviation products
