About the position

The Systems Test Engineer at Itron will play a crucial role in the definition, design, and implementation of next-generation network devices. This position focuses on testing Itron's IP-based networking products, executing manual test cases, and developing test scripts during the internal validation process to ensure high-quality software and hardware solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams on the development of test plans for Itron products.
• Develop and improve test coverage of test plans to ensure new products function as designed.
• Execute test cases and generate test reports.
• Report and track bugs, debug problems encountered during tests, and verify bug/defect fixes.
• Coordinate the maintenance and upgrade of the test lab environment, perform application installs, and set up the test network.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or related experience in software systems and integration testing of hardware and software.
• Strong collaboration and organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional workplace communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Expertise in End to End Testing, including Hardware validation using Software (GUI) & Database via TCP/IP network.
• Solid experience with programming in Linux shell scripting and scripting languages such as Python, C#, Java.
• Experience in test automation and the ability to perform Selenium-based automation test suites.
• Experience with electric/gas/water utility meters.
