About the position

The Systems Test Engineer (Software Integration/Quality) role at Sabre Systems involves supporting the Airborne Acoustic Signal Processing (AASP) team in developing and integrating software for the Navy's P-8A aircraft. The position focuses on creating test plans, executing test procedures, and generating reports to ensure the quality and performance of software systems used in anti-submarine warfare operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans and procedures for software testing.
• Execute test procedures and develop test tools to aid in testing efforts.
• Generate test reports and software trouble reports.
• Investigate Software Trouble Reports (STRs) for P-8A Operational Computer Software Configuration Item (OPCSCI) and McPAPS.
• Develop scenarios for McPAPS testing.
• Integrate software from multiple sources and collaborate with hardware engineers.
• Utilize DevOps tools in the Atlassian suite, including JIRA and Bitbucket.
• Work with Windows and Linux-based assets to accomplish test objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
• Knowledge and skills to integrate and evaluate software.
• Willingness to participate in full software development lifecycle activities.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux (preferably Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04, or newer).
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance and acquire a DoD Top Secret Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) Aircraft Weapons Systems and software processes.
• Experience with software containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience in Software Integration and Test or Quality Assurance.
• Familiarity with Ocean Acoustics & Associated Signal Processing.
