About the position

UST is searching for a Systems Test Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring adherence to test practices and processes to improve test coverage. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and functionality of systems through rigorous testing and debugging. The Systems Test Engineer will focus on completing work in a timely manner while understanding the basic features of the system. They will collect essential information such as logs and requirements, identifying common errors related to systems testing. Collaboration is key, as the engineer will work closely with team members to complete tasks effectively. In this position, the engineer will conduct log analyses to pinpoint where issues have occurred and gather, integrate, and interpret information from various sources to troubleshoot problems. They will assist in verifying that proposed solutions to identified issues accurately address and correct the problems. The role involves detecting bugs in the system under test and resolving issues using basic debugging approaches. The engineer must adapt to minor changes and setbacks, managing pressure to meet deadlines while prioritizing individual project tasks with close supervision. Communication is vital in this role; the engineer will provide feedback about identified feature issues to software and systems teams and regularly discuss testing problems with their manager and peers to maintain open lines of communication. They will conduct basic field or lab tests as directed by tech leads and make simple decisions regarding basic feature issues associated with systems testing, following up with tech leads if requirements are unclear. Additionally, the engineer will write functional tests for features to ensure their functionality, contributing to the overall success of the team and the organization.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related fields.
  • Exposure and understanding of Wireless Technology - 5G / 4G / 3G.
  • Exposure and understanding of wireless features/protocols - Initial ACQ, RACH, CA, HO etc.
  • Exposure and understanding of Qualcomm Tools - QXDM, PCAT etc.
  • Exposure to Qualcomm MTP testing or OEM device testing.
  • Experience in Test Planning, Test Execution, Test Vendor Equipment configuration, E2E Test debugging, and log analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional wireless technologies and protocols.
  • Familiarity with advanced debugging techniques.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.
