About the position

The Systems Test Engineer will join the MSOC team at the Johnson Space Center, focusing on the reconfiguration of simulation training systems to support human spaceflight. This role involves reviewing and updating requirements for data interfaces, managing large data sets, analyzing design specifications, and developing integration and test processes. The engineer will also be responsible for real-time problem resolution, test planning, and execution, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering tasks related to the reconfiguration of simulation training systems.
• Review and update requirements for data interfaces between ISS onboard software and simulators.
• Generate and manage large data sets for defining data interfaces.
• Analyze design specifications and develop product specifications to meet interface requirements.
• Resolve real-time problems with customers.
• Develop integration and test processes.
• Perform integration of system components.
• Create test documentation and execute test plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Excellent organizational, technical, teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with current NASA human spaceflight activities and proposed future vehicles.
• Understanding of various computer networks and systems.
• Knowledge of database concepts and data analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with space data and information transfer systems and standards.
• Knowledge of Configuration Management concepts and systems.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux, C++, Python, and Microsoft Office products.
• SQL Plus knowledge is a plus.
