About the position

The Manager in Training (MIT) program at T-Mobile is a 90-day blended-learning initiative designed to prepare individuals for the role of Retail Store Manager. The program immerses participants in all aspects of managing a T-Mobile Premium Retail Store, including supervising daily operations, ensuring store performance, and developing the team. Successful completion of the program is required for promotion to a Retail Store Manager position.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day store activities and ensure overall store performance.
  • Identify staffing needs and manage schedules.
  • Develop operational action plans while mentoring and developing the team.
  • Manage guest services, store operations, sales, profitability, merchandise, inventory, expense control, and human resources management.
  • Train store associates in using store systems to support the Customer Experience, including the Point of Sale.
  • Cultivate a positive environment that supports MobileOne's values.
  • Coach Mobile Associates in building relationships with customers and understanding their needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment at all times.
  • Ensure visual merchandising is engaging and adheres to MobileOne/T-Mobile standards.
  • Stay updated on T-Mobile technology and ensure associates are informed about new products and sales techniques.

Requirements

  • One year previous management experience in retail, preferably in wireless.
  • Ability to lead and coach to deliver financial results.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check.
  • A high-school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age.
  • Knowledge of T-Mobile products, services, policies, and systems is preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Office suite and G-suite abilities.
  • Effective communication in both written and verbal formats.
  • Ability to train others on the sales process and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Ability to deliver both positive and constructive feedback.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail management in the wireless industry.
  • Familiarity with sales techniques and customer service best practices.
