About the position

The T1 Security Engineer - Cleared at CDW plays a crucial role in implementing and maintaining the company's Information Security technical controls in alignment with the corporate information security program. This position is essential for ensuring the integrity and security of CDW's information systems. The Senior Security Engineer is responsible for identifying, evaluating, selecting, designing, implementing, and optimizing new information security initiatives that are vital for the organization's operational success. In this role, the engineer will perform assessments and remediation of systems and networks within the network environment or enclave. This includes identifying deviations from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy, and measuring the effectiveness of the defense-in-depth architecture against known vulnerabilities. The engineer will also develop, implement, and maintain information security safeguards and measures to enforce CDW's information security policies, standards, and procedures. Collaboration is key in this position, as the engineer will consult with internal business partners to identify security requirements and implement necessary security controls. The role is structured to allocate approximately 75% of the time to project work and 25% to security operational support. Additionally, the engineer will provide level 3 support for Information Security and lead incident response activities. Participation in a weeklong 24/7 on-call support rotation is required, along with the possibility of off-hours or weekend work as needed. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and vendors is also a critical aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field with limited experience or Associate's degree in a technical field and 2 to 5 years of related experience.
  • General knowledge and understanding in area of expertise and associated equipment, processes, or systems.
