About the position

As an Electromechanical Senior Technician at SC Johnson, you will serve as a multi-craft maintenance technician responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing technical components within the manufacturing facility. This role is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency of the facility and ensuring the reliability of equipment through preventative and corrective maintenance actions. You will work on a 12-hour rotating day shift, contributing to a team that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and assist in the recovery and repair of factory-installed equipment.
  • Troubleshoot failed electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components using problem-solving techniques and test equipment.
  • Complete assigned preventative maintenance actions according to OEM and engineering specifications, including overhauls and inspections.
  • Perform corrective action repairs to support safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Utilize shop equipment for fabrication tasks, including mills, lathes, and welding methods.
  • Use computerized maintenance management software (SAP) to manage work and document completion.
  • Support training of equipment operators in maintenance principles and routine activities.
  • Participate in problem-solving initiatives to support continual improvement.

Requirements

  • Technical college certification in a related field or Journeyman (HVAC, Electrician, etc.) with 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience or 5-7 years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
  • 3-4 years of electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proven track record of safe work with demonstrated safety leadership examples.
  • Ability to troubleshoot AC & DC drive systems, PLC, and electrical controls.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of SAP systems related to maintenance and operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean initiatives.
