About the position

The Tableau Data Engineer at Northrop Grumman will play a crucial role in developing data visualization solutions to support a new superconducting electronics wafer fabrication line. This position involves collaborating with engineering teams to understand their data analysis needs and creating custom Tableau solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, be proficient in data visualization, and possess the ability to communicate insights effectively across various levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Tableau to build core capabilities for data visualization supporting a superconducting electronics wafer fabrication line.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand data analysis needs and build custom solutions in Tableau.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to data fidelity, dashboards, or reports.
  • Proactively determine and develop data visualization solutions in a fast-paced R&D environment with minimal direction.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers, in both written and verbal formats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a STEM Master's with 0 years of experience.
  • Proficient in Tableau dashboard creation.
  • Experience in modern programming languages (Python, SQL, etc.).
  • Knowledge of database concepts and data structure.
  • Experienced in data visualization best practices.
  • Understanding of calculated fields, parameters, level of detail calculations, and hierarchies.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, able to execute independently and with a small team.
  • Must be willing to work on-site 100% of the time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in data science, computer science, or software engineering.
  • Highly skilled in modern programming languages (Python, SQL, etc.).
  • Skilled in statistical data analysis and modeling.
  • Experience in high volume automated manufacturing microelectronics or semiconductor fabs.
  • Experience with manufacturing datasets and data structures specifically for semiconductor or microelectronics engineering.
  • Understanding of data representation differences between products, plans, recipes, and varying levels of manufacturing containers.
