About the position

Genesis10 is seeking a Tableau Desktop Developer for a 12+ month contract position in the financial industry. The role involves designing and developing interactive Tableau dashboards, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, performing data analysis, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity in reports and visualizations. The developer will also optimize existing dashboards and stay updated with Tableau best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop interactive and user-friendly Tableau dashboards and reports
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure data solutions meet business needs
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights
• Optimize and maintain existing Tableau dashboards
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports and visualizations
• Stay updated with Tableau best practices and new features

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Tableau Desktop Developer
• Strong proficiency in Tableau Desktop and data visualization best practices
• Solid understanding of SQL, data querying, and fundamentals of data modeling
• Experience with data preparation and ETL processes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with industry BI/Reporting toolsets including Tableau, MicroStrategy, Cognos, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, Qlik
• Experience with connecting to Hadoop, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, Netezza, Teradata, and SQL databases
• Experience with Data Science integration and application (Python, R)
• Experience with ETL tools (Trifecta, Alteryx, SSIS, Informatica)
• Experience with programming languages (Python, APIs, Web Data Connectors, Tableau Extensions, JavaScript)
• Experience with Financial services data and large data volumes
